Linda Hardin-Diebes

Linda Hardin-Diebes is an M.S. student in the Rhetoric Department. She received the U.S. Bank Fellowship for 2005-2006.

Abstract:
This project examines the usability of US Bank's Spanish Web site. As the Hispanic population in the United States continues to grow, a greater amount of research has been conducted regarding Hispanics and Web usage. This research has shown that Hispanics are one of the fastest growing market segments in the online banking industry. In order to take advantage of this growing market segment, it has become essential for banks to tailor a Web site specifically for those Spanish-speaking customers. My project includes performing a heuristic evaluation of the current US Bank Spanish Web site and researching methods to increase the usability of the site based on the general Web usage habits of Spanish-speaking Hispanic users.
