Tad Patterson is a first year Ph.D. student in Rhetoric and Scientific and Technical Communication and the recipient of the Medtronic IAP Research Fellowship.
His project attempts to optimize how health care providers understand Medtronic's OptiVol product. As the documentation is well done, and the users are educated and motivated, any disconnect might come from a misunderstanding of what the documentation is talking about.
Thomas Kuhn's Structure of Scientific Revolutions suggests the world we see changes based on the paradigm we see it through. This project is meant to help providers change one aspect of their paradigm so they can understand OptiVol better.
