The Scientific and Technical Communication (S&TC) Bachelor of Science program is offered by the Department of Writing Studies, in the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) within the Communication and Media Community. The Writing Studies department is located in Wesbrook Hall, and the College of Liberal Arts is housed in Johnston Hall; both located on the Minneapolis campus of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. To declare an S&TC major, make an appointment to meet with the assistant director of undergraduate studies, Barb Horvath. Together you will complete an online form which tracks your required courses for the major.

If you were previously a student at the Twin Cities campus and are returning to the University of Minnesota, you need to apply for a transfer at the Office of Admissions on the campus where you last attended classes. If you attended a different college or university, follow the guidelines for transfer students.
Beginning in the fall of 2008, the University Honors Program (UHP) will bring together opportunities and programs for honors students in all U of M-Twin Cities colleges. You are automatically considered for UHP when you submit your application to become a University of Minnesota student.
